Audit Reports
InSched provides multiple audit report types, each designed for different investigative needs. All audit reports can be accessed from the menu.
Audit Report for This Event
The simplest and most commonly used audit report. Right-click on any event in the schedule and select Audit Report For This Event to see the complete history of changes for that specific event.
This shows every modification made to the event, including:
- When it was created
- Every time it was changed (with before and after values)
- Who made each change (initials, station, and logged-in user)
- If and when it was deleted
Audit Report by Most Recent Changes
Select View > Audit Report For Most Recent Changes from the menu.
This report shows the N most recent changes made to the schedule. It is the quickest way to see recent activity.
Parameters
- Number of changes to show - How many recent changes to display
- Operator filter - Show only changes by a specific operator
- Station filter - Show only changes from a specific workstation
- Include/exclude record blocks - Whether to show grouped related changes
Use Cases
- "What just happened?" - Show the last 5 or 10 changes
- End-of-day review of all changes made during the shift
- Monitoring changes made by a specific staff member
Audit Report by Audit Info
Select View > Audit Report For Most Recent Change from the menu.
This report filters changes based on the audit metadata.
Parameters
- Operator - Filter by who made the changes
- Station - Filter by which computer
- Date Range - Filter by when changes were made
- Include/exclude record blocks - Whether to group related changes
Use Cases
- "What changes did Sarah make yesterday?" - Filter by operator and date
- "What happened on the front desk computer this morning?" - Filter by station and time
- Investigating a specific time period when something went wrong
Audit Report by Date
This report focuses on changes within a date range, with additional filtering capabilities.
Parameters
- Date Range - The period to examine
- Modification Date Range - When the changes were made (distinct from the event dates)
- Operator - Filter by who made changes
- Station - Filter by which computer
- Ignore Ancient Recurring Events - Option to exclude old recurring event modifications that may clutter the report
Use Cases
- "Show me all changes made to next week's schedule" - Set the date range to next week
- "What modifications were made to last month's schedule after the fact?" - Set event date range to last month and modification date range to this month
Audit Transaction View
For reviewing audit information related to financial transactions. This view shows:
- Patient ID
- Treatment ID
- Quote ID
- Procedure details
- Transaction dates and amounts
- Modifiers
- Deposit and payment tracking
- Statement dates
- Paid-by information

Information Displayed
Every audit entry includes:
- Timestamp - Exact date and time of the change
- Operator - Initials of the person who made the change
- Station - Computer name where the change was made
- Change Type - Add, Modify, or Delete
- Field Details - Which fields were changed and their before/after values
Output Options
Audit reports can be:
- Viewed on screen in a browser window or grid
- Printed
- Used for compliance documentation
Tips
- Use the per-event audit (right-click > Audit Report) as your first investigative tool - it's the fastest way to understand what happened to a specific appointment
- For broader investigations, start with the Most Recent Changes report and narrow down from there
- The by Date report is most useful for systematic reviews, such as weekly or monthly audit reviews
- All audit data is preserved indefinitely and cannot be modified
