Editing Document Info

After a document has been added to a patient's chart, you can update its metadata using the Edit Document Info dialog.

Opening the Dialog

In the EMR Viewer, right-click a document and select Edit Page Info, or select the document and use the Edit Page Info action.

Editable Fields

Section

Select the chart section for this document from the dropdown. Check Show Inactive Sections to include deactivated sections in the list.

Service Dates

  • Starting Date — The service start date (mm/dd/yyyy)
  • Ending Date — The service end date (mm/dd/yyyy)

Classification

  • Plan — Link the document to a specific treatment plan
  • Event — Link the document to a specific appointment
  • Provider — The source provider

Document Title

A descriptive title for the document. This text appears in the chart tree view.

Saving Changes

Click Ok or press F3 to save the updated metadata. Click Cancel to discard changes.

When to Edit Document Info

Common reasons to update document metadata:

  • Reclassify a document — Move it to a different chart section
  • Correct dates — Fix service dates that were entered incorrectly
  • Link to a plan or event — Associate a document with the correct treatment plan or appointment after the fact
  • Add a title — Give an untitled document a descriptive name for easier identification
