Vendors, Manufacturers & Locations

InSched maintains directories of vendors, manufacturers, and inventory locations to support product tracking and procurement.

Manufacturers

Manufacturers represent the companies that produce the products in your inventory.

Accessing Manufacturers

Open the Manufacturers editor from within the Product Type editor by clicking the Mfgrs button, or from the setup menu.

Managing Manufacturers

  • Click New or press F8 to add a manufacturer
  • Click Edit or press F9 to modify an existing manufacturer
  • Check Inactive to deactivate a manufacturer without deleting it

Vendors

Vendors are the suppliers you purchase products from. Vendor records include full contact information for procurement purposes.

Accessing Vendors

Open the Vendors editor from within the Product Type editor by clicking the Vendors button, or from the setup menu.

Managing Vendors

The Vendors editor shows a grid with vendor details. Select a vendor to view and edit their full information in the detail panel below the grid.

  • Use the Clear button to remove the contact person association
  • Use the Edit Persons button to manage the contacts list

Inventory Locations

Inventory locations represent the physical storage areas within your practice (e.g., "Main Supply Room", "OR 1", "Storage Closet B").

Accessing Locations

Select Setup > Edit Locations for Inventory from the menu.

Managing Locations

The locations editor displays a simple grid of location names:

Adding a Location

Click the Click here to add a new Account row at the bottom of the grid, or use the insert button in the navigator.

Editing a Location

Click on a location name to edit it. Use the navigator's edit and post buttons to confirm changes.

tip

Rename rather than delete location names. Deleting a location may affect existing inventory records that reference it. Renaming preserves the association while updating the display name.

Deleting a Location

Use the navigator's delete button to remove a location. Only delete locations that have no inventory records associated with them.
