Practice Information

The Practice Information dialog configures global practice-level settings that affect scheduling behavior, event processing, and data entry throughout InSched.

Accessing Practice Information

Select Setup > Practice Information from the menu.

Event Tracking Settings

Inform Integration

  • Track Event Changes For Inform — Enable event change tracking for synchronization with Inform

Patient Suggestions

Control whether InSched prompts staff to associate a patient when creating certain event types:

  • Suggest Patient for Consult Events — Prompt for patient on consultation appointments
  • Suggest Patient for Surgery Events — Prompt for patient on surgery appointments
  • Suggest Patient for Procedure Events — Prompt for patient on procedure appointments
  • Suggest Patient for Ongoing Service Events — Prompt for patient on ongoing service appointments

Plan Automation

  • Auto Advance Ongoing Service Plans — Automatically advance plans when ongoing service events are completed

Status Settings

  • Use Checked Back and Checked Out Statuses — Enable the Check Back and Check Out status workflow steps. When unchecked, only basic event statuses are available.

Audit Settings

  • Allow database entry without Audit Tracking Initials — When unchecked, all changes require user initials for audit tracking. Check this to allow entries without initials.

Display Settings

  • Show All Block Types — Display all available block types in the scheduling interface rather than filtering by context.

Action Groups

Assign action groups that automatically execute when specific events occur:

Select an action group from the dropdown, or leave blank to disable automatic actions for that event.

Format Settings

Phone Number Format

Choose the display format for phone numbers throughout InSched:

  • ###-###-#### — Standard US format (e.g., 555-123-4567)
  • ##-######## — Alternative format

Postal Code Format

Choose the display format for postal/ZIP codes:

  • #####-#### — US ZIP+4 format
  • V3V 1S8 — Canadian postal code format
  • #### — Four-digit format

Keyboard Block Shortcuts

Configure which block types are assigned to keyboard shortcuts:

Select a block type from the dropdown for each shortcut key.
